Through William Chugg, Johanna's Youngest Child

William was the youngest of Johanna Stanbury and Philip Chugg. Married in Wales he and his wife began across the plains of the United States. This first wife, Mary Jeffries would perish during the trek and was buried near Chimney Rock in the Nebraska Territory. William had no children born in the United Kingdom. He married two  wives in Utah, each of his children being born in the Utah Territory, or in the case of his youngest Mabel Eliza in the state of Utah.

I have had the pleasure to correspond with descendants of William Chugg because of postings on the Johanna Chugg message board on www.ancestry.com, as well as a visit or two to and from some of these kin folk. My appreciation to their help in compiling (and correcting) my records. I have also learned I share other lineages with some of this line.

His children by wives Mary Mitchell and Eliza Barbara Fredrick, generation three, went on to parent a large posterity for William and hence, Johanna and Philip:

I have now put in what I feel confident is an accurate record of the third, fourth and fifth generations of Johanna Stanbury Chugg's family. Again. I chose this woman as she was the earliest generation in my pioneering Chugg family, I will continue to attempt to identify, learn about and keep a record of this family.
