Through John Chugg and Hanna Lee, Third Generation

Grandsons John Samuel Chugg, 13 Aug 1875 to 4 Mar 1878, and William Cornelius Chugg 13 Aug 1878 to 20 Mar 1878, died in childhood. Both are buried in the Ogden City Cemetery, their graves in George Chugg's plot.
Moroni Chugg, born 23 Jan 1879 in Harrisville married Ida Taylor in 1901. She passed away 1931, after which time Moroni married a Mrs Foote. Moroni and Ida assumed the farm that John and Hanna Lee Chugg settled. Moroni was the fourth LDS Bishop for Farr West in Weber County. Moroni and Ida Chugg had twelve children: Moroni Orin, Karl Willis, Leila Ida, Zola Philomela, John Andrew, Melbourne David, Orretta Hannah, Duard Bailey, Ortelle Bernice, Glenna Eliza, Vanita Mary, and Peggy. Moroni passed away in Ogden, Utah 28 Mar 1961, aged 82.
Hannah Chasey Chugg, 28 Jan 1881 to 21 Apr 1962, was wife of Edmund Richard Berrett and they were farmers in the North Ogden area. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945. They were parents to Bessie Hannah, Cecil Edmond, Welden Griffin, Elwood David, Lionel Chugg, Marjorie, Genevieve, Elsie LaVon and Eleanore May.
Zina May Chugg, wife of Charles Edward Orton, was born 1 May 1882 in Farr West and passed away 16 Feb 1968 in Ogden. Married in 1902 they were parents of nine. Charles Orton was farmer and business man. Their children were Charles Leroy, Joseph Rulon, Raymond Melvin, Lucille May (the last surviving sibling, passing away in 2001), Clara Hannah, Marcus John, Glenn Lee, Rhea Laverne, and Fae Charlene.
Victor Chugg, born 25 Mar 1885 in Harrisville passed away 28 Feb 1959. He and his wife are buried in the North Ogden Ben Lomond Cemetery. His wife Deseret Elvira Reynolds of that community. She was born 1886 and died 1946. Victor's son Rulon was my first contact with this Chugg line when we met at the Ogden Family History Center. In addition to Rulon David, Victor's children were Victor Otis, Lawrence Mormon, Erma Elvira, Lois Hannah, Lola Mary and Grant Delmar.
Lilly Adell Chugg married first William Andrew Jones with whom there were two children, Thelma Lilly and Charles Andrew, and then second married Wade Hampton Joyce, having one son, Robert Carroll, from this marriage. Lilly died young, aged 30, her life from 20 Aug 1888 to 1 Jun 1919.
She is buried with Wade Joyce in the Ogden City Cemetery.

Third Generation, Continued

Mary Elizabeth Chugg, born Cardiff, Glamorgan, South Wales 4 May 1853. Died 31 January 1894 at Franklin, Franklin, Idaho after or while giving birth to her 9th child, who also died. She married in Salt Lake City 27 March 1874 to Moroni Walker Pratt. Survived by her husband and seven children, one daughter Cora Agatha having died about 2 years prior. The others were Ellis, Mary Louie, Francis Moroni, Evelyn Vilate, Mabel Elizabeth, Hazel, Florence and the child born at the time of Mary's death.
Jane Chugg born Cardiff on 9 May 1856. She would die in Ogden, Weber County, Utah at age 68, on January 15, 1925. She was the mother of four daughters with her husband Israel Plummer Frodsham,a businessman, whom she married 23 Jan 1881 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah. These daughters were Pearl Amelia, Ruby Vernell, Florence Arnetta, and Grace Myrtle.
Joseph Chugg, 24 March 1861 to 9 September 1919. A farmer in Weber County, my grandmother remembered going to stay with his family in the summer time, watermelon pulled from the well, cold and wonderful to eat outside. This was one of the early dairy farms in Chugg stewardship. His son Nathan continued the farming until he passed it on to nephew Dale Chugg, who has continued that work. Joseph married Zenia May Rawson (27 Feb 1866 - 4 Apr 1961) on December 23, 1885 in Logan. They were parents to four sons and five daughters: Orley Joseph, Zennia Myrtle, Ray Royal, Gerald Rawson, Nathan George, Mabel Eliza, Maude Vilate, Vera Elizabeth, and Iva Geneva.
Sarah Chugg, born Cardiff, Wales 1st of January 1863 passed away in Ogden on 20th September 1932, the widow of Thomas Culley, a pharmacist in Ogden. Sarah had no children. Mr Culley (1850-1924) was born in England and died in Ogden. They both lie at rest in the Ogden City Cemetery.
David Chugg also rests in Ogden, in the same lot as his father and stepmother Hannah Lee. Also born in Cardiff, he died from a tragic railroading accident on December 11, 1887 while working in Nevada. He was 22 years old. A popular young man, he never married. An article ran in the Ogden Standard-Examiner.
